TRANSFER CREDIT
General Policies
Piccolo International University recognizes that learning takes place in a variety of contexts. Many students come to PIU with previous college credits and/or years of learning from professional experience. Thus, PIU students may be able to take advantage of different opportunities to earn transfer credit.
Students in the Associate of Science (AS) program may transfer a maximum of 30 credit hours into PIU. Students in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) programs may transfer a maximum of 90 credit hours into PIU. Students in the Master of Science (MS) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs may transfer a maximum of 6 credit hours into PIU. Students in certificate programs may not transfer any credit into PIU.
Transfer of College Credit
Undergraduate students may be granted transfer credit for college-level courses taken at an appropriately accredited institutions in which a grade of "C" (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher has been earned. Graduate students may be granted transfer credit for graduate level courses taken at appropriately accredited institutions in which a grade of "B" (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher has been earned. Credits accepted in transfer, however, do not necessarily apply to all degree programs at Piccolo International University. Students requesting transfer credit should have an official transcript from the institution at which the course was taken sent to PIU for evaluation.
Credits from foreign institutions will be reviewed for acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to have all such transcripts translated into English and evaluated by an International Student Evaluation Service before submitting them to PIU.
See our Catalog for information regarding regionally accredited institutions, International Student Evaluation Services, and additional facts about transfer credit.
